Nooners — The Night That Changed Everything

Adrian had come out that Wednesday with one thing in mind: Karaoke. He pulled into the parking lot of a little bar called Nooners and almost turned right back around. From the outside it looked small, only a few cars out front — not exactly a promising sign. Then a red pickup truck pulled in.

He didn’t get a great look at her, but something made him stay. After all, he was there for the Karaoke. He walked in to find a nice crowd and followed the music toward the bar. At the end of it sat a single empty chair — and right next to it, a woman with a beer and a smile, watching him walk in.

He sat down. She said hello. He said hello back. If you ask Erin, she’ll tell you she saw him coming the moment he walked through the door, and that she set that chair there on purpose. The prize was hers no matter what.

That Same Night

She Sang

A few moments after they met, Erin hopped up and took the mic. Adrian watched, and in that moment his interest went from a spark to a flame. What a voice. And she loves to dance — high-spirited, radiant, completely alive up there.

When she came back to the bar, she spoke to him more, and with every word he was drawn in further. She was beautiful inside and out. He wanted to hold her next to him for the rest of the night — and he could feel that she felt the same way. She sang the night away and came back to him every single time.

He knew she was the one.

“It’s Only Going to Be You”

As they walked back to their vehicles under the night sky, Erin gave him a kiss. Without thinking, Adrian said four words: “It’s only going to be you.”

She looked at him and said one word back: “Okay.”

And that was that.

The Weeks That Followed

Better Every Single Day

The weeks after that night were something Adrian had never experienced before. Each day was better than the last — better than he thought was even possible. He couldn’t believe that life could keep getting better with such an amazing woman.

Valentine’s Day, 2026

The First Declaration

Valentine’s Day meant more that year than it ever had before. Adrian was with someone he truly loved, and who truly loved him. That evening, he told her: he wanted her to be his wife — that she had made him the happiest he had ever been, and he never wanted that to stop.

Two Weeks Later

He Asked. She Said Yes.

Two weeks after Valentine’s Day, Adrian asked Erin to marry him. She said yes.

Some people will say it was fast. Erin and Adrian will tell you: when you know, you know. They both knew it on that very first night — at Karaoke, at Nooners, over two beers and one empty chair.
